DESIGNER

Carlo Rivetti, the founder of Stone Island, hails from a family deeply rooted in the clothing sector. Building on the legacy of his ancestors, who ventured into the textile industry, Rivetti's journey began with the discovery of rubberizing fabrics for enhanced performance. In the 1950s, Rivetti's family business, GFT, revolutionized the Italian fashion scene by introducing ready-to-wear clothing based on standardized measurements. Sensing the need for a new frontier, Rivetti pioneered sportswear within GFT and acquired C.P. Company, a cutting-edge business in the field. In 1993, Rivetti and his sister Cristina purchased the company, which was then renamed Sportswear Company, marking the start of his independent venture with Stone Island.
