BRAND
Founded in 2013 by Virgil Abloh, the Off-White brand sees itself as a bridge between streetwear and luxury fashion. With its iconic quotation marks, diagonal stripes, and eye-catching typography, Off-White has created a visual language that is recognizable worldwide. The collections range from ready-to-wear and sneakers to accessories and are characterized by a progressive play with irony, symbolism, and subculture references. Off-White operates at the intersection of art, music, and design and is considered an influential force in contemporary fashion.

HISTORY
Virgil Abloh launched Off-White in Milan after working as creative director for Kanye West's label DONDA. From the outset, he focused on an aesthetic that combined urban culture with the codes of luxury fashion. Off-White first gained international attention through collaborations with brands such as Nike, Levi's, and IKEA. A milestone was the legendary “The Ten” sneaker collection with Nike in 2017, which finally established the label in global sneaker and fashion culture. In 2018, Abloh became the first African American designer to be appointed artistic director of Louis Vuitton Menswear, a testament to the enormous influence Off-White had achieved in such a short time. Following Abloh's untimely death in 2021, a creative collective led by designer Ib Kamara is continuing the brand's vision and developing Off-White in the spirit of its founder.

DESIGNER
Born in Rockford, Illinois, in 1980, Virgil Abloh initially studied civil engineering and later architecture before discovering his passion for fashion. His interdisciplinary approach had a significant impact on Off-White: Abloh never viewed fashion in isolation, but always in the context of art, music, and everyday culture. He saw himself as a translator between high fashion and street culture, between luxury and everyday life. This approach made him one of the most influential figures of his generation and established Off-White as synonymous with modern, progressive fashion.
